Based on last months survey – ENUMPlus has been lacking some major documentation; thus we have released version 0.2.3 for immediate download.
We have also added some additional features such as lookup timeouts as well as the ability to disable the success message.
Download the latest release here while we add ISN lookups to our roster

After completely rewriting ENUMPlus from the ground up (2 days total) we have come much closer to a universal ENUM lookup source. The new module can be downloaded here so install it now! Here’s why :
- The module forms a HTTP request to our API which queries many other sources and returns the most accurate address.
- There is no longer a need to add multiple lookup sources to the old enumlookup AGI.
- It audibly notifies you when the call is made over ENUM.
- You can track your calls in the panel.
- White pages / search functionality (including avatars
)
- Call validation is much more stable.
If you don’t have an account, get one – registration is quick and simple and you will be a happy geek.
Check out the project page / wiki / site / sourceforge / FreePBX / voip-info / piaf for more info.

I guess tonight while packing I had a few too many cups of coffee so I was obviously wired and decided to sit down and write some code. I ended up writing an XMPP / Jabber relay for ENUMPlus which I must say works pretty damn good. Setting this all up is a three step process ;
- Create an account / Login to enumplus.org and click “Notifications”. Input your XMPP user account in the form and press “Send Me Notifications!”.
- Copy the provided dialplan addition and paste it into /etc/asterisk/extensions_custom.conf. Reload your dial plan of course with asterisk -rx “dialplan reload”.
- Add enumplus@gmail.com to your buddy list and test it out!
Here’s a screenshot to get started.

Anyway, go get signed up and test it out for yourself – it is a ton of fun!

ENUMPlus has generated a moderate following over the past few months – but I think we could be doing much better. In order to compete with the big boys I feel we really need to begin adding some additional features. So here is what I have in mind :
- XMPP messages with avatar on incoming calls
- “Opt-In” Whitepages directory
- FreeNUM type lookups
- 1 8XX routing
I have a feeling if I can get these modules added to the panel we can really generate a large member list. Don’t expact anything this week but as soon as I finish up this hosting panel currently in the works – you should see some upgrade. Appreciate any and all feedback.
