e164+ is a community effort whose goal is to establish an open software application for those who are interested in routing their PSTN channels over IP. We as a community feel that other widely used closed systems are deprecated and find their service quality to be mediocre at best. Our key focuses are security, quality of service and ease of use.
Our efforts began at #pbxinaflash where we all decided to begin testing ENUM. For some, it took weeks to get set up (after several "missed calls") and overall we were not 100% satisfied with the service.
We have developed a module to simplify the use of ENUMPlus in hopes to become more widespread. Visit the Project Page to download ENUMPlus Version 0.1. If you have any questions, comment or suggestions etc. please post them either here or here.
If you have an IVR in place we can not pass DTMF reliably - please either temporarily set your inboud routes to an extension, or record all incoming calls. We now offer super simple dynamic DNS service to all of our users - it was broken, now it is not (sorry about the confusion). Once you login click "Dynamic DNS" and install the automatically generated cronjob (copy / paste) - in no time at all you will have a $username.enumplus.org subdomain that points to your SIP proxy!
The reason we decided to offer this is because it consolidates all of the requirements in one place - all you need is curl (which ships with most PABX's out of the box). We really hope you find it as useful as we do, it was a lot of fun to write.
Firstly I would like to thank Randy at GSMCall for the generous hosting he is providing. Secondly we have moved to a super quick MySQL backend for our DNS boxes - we no longer need to cron anything and the best part is records are added [and removed] immediately.
We got email working properly. I was stupid and didn't set up rDNS so many of the worlds email servers wouldn't talk to me. The good part is you should get your verification email immediately now.
As many of you know, the enumlookup.agi script that ships with Asterisk and FreePBX is very broken (it doesn't read the hostnames provided in the configuration). We are working on a script that can be added to FreePBX as a module for working ENUM Lookup as well as a custom section for additional resources.
If you enjoy using ENUMPlus and would like to contribute - why not set up a replication box! Since ENUMPlus is (and always will be) 100% Free to use, modify and redistribute we have plans to release several snapshots for different virtualization technologies for anyone looking to help.
I am working on a script for fresh Debian installs to get set up and fully working in just a few minutes. Your system will be added to the network upon submission of a verification key. If you would like to help develop this script feel free to contact me.
If I had a gazillion dollars I would gladly spend it on verifying your telephone numbers (for validation calls). Unfortunately I am not so please help us with some outbound calling minutes or something if you can. We would all really appreciate it.
